About the Project

Situated next to the stunning town of Coroico in Bolivia, not far from the country’s capital La Paz, this project is based in a truly incredible wildlife sanctuary, caring for illegally trafficked animals that have been rescued from lives of captivity and cruelty. Established in 2003 as an ecotourism project, the sanctuary began taking in monkeys and parrots that had been rescued from traffickers. Today, the sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and flora in the area.

Assist in preserving the Maasai village culture, Tanzania

Kenya is an iconic African safari destination and home to the Maasai tribe. The Maasai are well known for their unique culture and tribal dress.

The Maasai Tribe

The Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group in Africa of semi-nomadic people settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania. Due to their distinct traditions, customs and dress and their residence near the many national game parks of East Africa, the Maasai are among the foremost African ethnic groups and are known internationally because of their links to the national parks and reserves.

Sophia Foundation for children - Cyprus

The Foundation provides medical care, including potential hospitalisation when needed, to more than 4500 children who live in the slums or the poor rural areas of Kenya. In cooperation with the accomplished Dutch organisation Medical Checks for Children (Medical Checks for Children), regular medical visits are organised on location, during which children are checked, given medicine and taken to hospitals if deemed necessary.

In addition, we also organise dental missions and carry out vaccinations, covering thus basic needs of prevention and treatment.

Furthermore, we cover the medical insurance (NHIF) for the children, so that they are able to get free of charge healthcare services at government hospitals throughout the country.
